Morning...I am looking at 1975 F30 Aragon...however it appears to have been altered. The serial number has two number 1 in it. However they are different fonts....and size! It looks like this:
1 I 4 3 2 7
My conclusion is that it is the neck from a I 4 3 2 7 (1960s) and later the factory or someone added 1 and put a 1975 body on it...so the serial number is now
1 I 4 3 2 7....From what I can see...1960s Guilds use the single line (I ) number one and in the 70s they use the bigger European number one with a Roman top and bottom (1).
There is a slight line at the 14th fret that may indicate a neck change but if so, done so well you can't really see it ..Also original finish all in tact.
The sticker in the sound hole looks good but also as if the first 1 has been added...
I wouldn't have thought this guild is one that is faked too much??
Any ideas?
Regards
