1954 X550 with a few alterations

Swapped pups and a TOM, some binding repair and a newer tailpiece... $2800.
I'm not in the market, but she's a pretty one and might be a semi-easy restoration.

And changed knobs. The case pictured is neither original nor blue-lined as stated. I am also curious about the finish - it looks much lighter than other burst Guilds I have seen from that period. They mention overspray on the headstock face, but nothing about the overall finish.

That guitar looks almost like a refinished one...Also most parts are replacement parts as it sounds.
The shown case is a new TKL case I think.

I don't have Hans' book in front of me, so somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but I recall it saying that an X-550 is an X-500 that is blonde. If that is true then this must be a refin.

Correct, page 51 show that info.

shame about the 'buckers. I think there are enough humbucker guitars out there, no need to convert the single coil ones!

Some not-too-subtle pieces of binding inserted in the waist too, the original binding probably shrunk.
