Years ago I ordered some camera equipment from an on-line used gear store in an Atlanta suburb.
Tracking the package until it showed up in Toronto was a travelogue on American geography. It was seemingly carried in various conveyances controlled by individuals wearing blindfolds.
Be of good cheer and high expectations, and with luck, the parcel will arrive during your lifetime.

Few days ago I sent a small package to my friend @ 100 miles away - tracking shows it is at a pickup-locker only 1/4 miles from his place - BUT - TPO - The Post Office can not deliver him the code to open the locker.
I can clearly remember how 50 years ago mail was delivered promptly - sometimes even w just the name of recepient and town - onece I drew a map on envelope, because I could not remember the house nuber - it was delivered.
Today . . . .

Timo, can he get to the post office? Once it's in a locker it's like a PO Box... at least in the US. If your friend can present his ID at the counter, they should give him the key.

Okay, I had a doctor appointment halfway across town this afternoon. Then afternoon traffic coming back and then grocery store and another stop afterwards. Finally home at 5pm. My main thought is, PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO DRIVE!!! There now, I've SAID IT, and I'm GLAD!! They're just awful....

The majority in this trip are residents. Apparently you can get a drivers license in NV and be really stupid!!

While my friend finally got the package today - after Post Office moved it to a place where you show your id-card - he told me an unbelievable story yesterday.
He is one of the very first roadies in this country - propably The First - he later made career as soundman in National Opera.
While roadie with Tasavallan Presidentti they toured England - coming back the floor tom was missing - Vesa Aaltonen - the drummer - got money from insurance to cover the loss.
Two years later he got phone call from Finnair - "We have a package w your name - it's been two years in Japan. . . "
Happy ending - I'd say
