Only been playing for about a year and just got my first acoustic (OM240CE). I grew up a headbanger in the 80's but my Dad liked country and folk so I listened to that a lot also growing up. I want to learn some classic acoustic stuff on the easy side. So far I can fake my way through Country Roads (John Denver), Crazy Little Thing Called Love (Queen), and Have you ever Seen the Rain (CCR). What are some other easy and fun acoustic songs to learn? What are your favorites? Thanks.

Nights in White Satin - Moody Blues. One of the first I learned to play. Lots of chords, but they are cowboy chords so it was an excellent "teaching" song.

"Blues Stay Away from Me" E, B7, A7
B7 can be tough but you can "cheat" by not using pinky finger and not strumming treble E string. Then right in to A7.

You must conquer the B7, or there will be no hope.

I find it much easier to play a B7 than a 4-string F.

Working on his Hotel California tutorial today. Marty is my go to guy for online "How to play (insert song title here)" videos.

I rarely play that 4-string F anymore, but some songs do require it for proper transitions. Mainly though, whenever I play an F it's a barre F or F7, I find that much easier than the 4-string variety. But I do a lot of barres anyway and it is a comfortable position for me.
