This is a very informative thread. I immediately went on YouTube and watched a video on how to tell if an older or vintage guitar needs a neck reset.

It's a UST. I don't think hum is an issue with those, they're not magnetized. Source must be in cable or preamp shielding or maybe even poorly grounded amp.
