Find me an A500B so I can pretend to be in the Blues Brothers!
Matt Guitar Murphy - Blues Brothers Guild
I've seen this movie at least 638 times, but tonight as I'm watching, I saw this for the first time: What is it? X500?letstalkguild.com
In that thread it is revealed that the guitar is actually a 1968 A350.
Not sure I follow you here. That is a "cast" tailpiece. (Although it could be forged.) The "3D" hinged design was always used on the archtops. The thinner body tailpieces were stamped out of a sheet of metal.Every time I see one, I'm taken aback at how classy those old style tailpieces look, compared to the later, cast ones.
I was too lazy to read the whole thing and it was my thread!

Ahh, got you! Those early ones are engraved whereas the later ones have the swirly decoration cast into the piece.
Actually almost a very rare instance when Hans was wrong and had to correct himself that it was no A-500 but an A-350!In that thread it is revealed that the guitar is actually a 1968 A350.
So you're saying Hans got Hans'd?Actually almost a very rare instance when Hans was wrong and had to correct himself that it was no A-500 but an A-350!
