K I’m lazy today so I’m asking instead of researching it so Al what’cha know ? Lol
I don’t much about this model other then my CV-1 which is kind of one or is one ?
I have a Tacoma price list at home ('08, I think) that specifically states it's based on the F40 body so I for one consider them to be in the F40 family or "derivatives" as I say for short.
16" lower bout F-body.
They don't get enough respect and yet it's one of Guild's most enduring and flexible designs.
So New Hampshire made them
New Hampshire you say?
Hardly.
and I think they Adirondack tops hog back and sides now are the all that way or did the ever make a Rosewood model ?
Tacoma actually offered the 'hog body/adi top formula first.
The NH regular production were 'hog sides/Adi tops.
The GSR version was Cocobolo sides/Englemann top. Closest you could get to rosewood out of NH, IIRC.
Sa-a-a-y...Didn't you have an F47 Koa for a while? I consider that to be F40 family too.
Original "Valencia" from early '50's was maple archback/ sitka top and was replaced by F47 ca '64 (?). (I researched it recently for "F40 Lovers Unite" but have forgotten already.)
F47's were 'hog bodied.
IN '84 George Gruhn "remodeled" ("re-defined"?) the Guild 16" lower bout F body and gave us F44, followed by the first rosewood F40 derivative I know of, the F46.
In '87 price list the GF series appears which offer all 3 tonewoods and 2 of 'em with choice of arch or flatback, but I think the GF50/GF60r was flatback only.
Late '80's begat the "Fxxce 's ", such as the F45ce Acornhouse recently acquired and which were quickly followed by a host of wood combos/body depths based on F47's, and which also begat the F47
Rce.
Guild said this about those:
"The F-Series acoustic-electrics are unmistakably Guild. The classic Guild
Valencia body shape continues in these modern guitars."
Let us not forget the GV series as covered in this thread:

The first time I heard of the Valencia was in the '97 Guild Gallery when they introduced a Nashville Custom Shop model of it.

Flatback maple/AAA sitka top:
Also do all the models over the years share the same build specs as far as dimensions ?
The earliest ones had a slight difference in radius of bouts compared to later ones but not sure when that actually started.
THE Gruhn era GF50 outline was littler more "voluptuous", compared to black '97 Valencia above:
16" lower bout F-body is the definition of the F40 and that never changed.
Except for some variation in depth between models and years ranging from about 4-1/2" to 5" with the F65ce being the extreme outlier at 3-1/2" deep, they would all fit in the same case that came with a 1959 F40 Valencia.
F65ce actually got it own case.
With 5 (count 'em
5) latches.
